Our primary goal is to create a fun, welcoming, and enjoyable roleplay experience. Any situations not specifically outlined in this covenant will be reviewed individually and handled at the discretion of the administration.

  • The Management team reserves the authority and right to remove or return any items deemed inappropriate or non-compliant without prior notice.
  • The Management team retains the right to approve or discontinue any roleplay scenario involving any avatar at our discretion.
  • The Management team reserves the right to update the covenant as needed on a case by case basis.
  • Please follow all instructions given by management to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Ridgeline is a Family Friendly Role Play Community. By entering, you acknowledge and agree to follow these policies. Not being aware of the rules won't be accepted as a reason for breaking them.

  1. There is an account age limit required before any account can role-play or rent from the Town of Ridgeline. Accounts must be a minimum of 30 days old. Exceptions may be approved by Senior Management.

  2. Child avatars are permitted. All ages are expected to follow the rules for moderate rating as stated by TOS. Town of Ridgeline STRICTLY prohibits any sexual conduct involving child avatars (those less than the RP age of 18).

  3. Avatars such as those with animal traits (furries) are welcome, provided their characters remain human-like in character and behavior. Non-human avatars (e.g., pets) are not permitted to role-play as speaking or fully sentient characters.

  4. We are NOT a Bloodlines Sim. Therefore, there is to be no biting or attacking of any kind here in the Town of Ridgeline.

  5. Sexual role-play will NOT be permitted in any public areas of Town of Ridgeline, or with child avatars present.

  6. The Ridgeline Roleplay group is the official in-character group for all roleplay interactions. The OOC group is for out-of-character communication only.

  7. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Continued violations may result in reporting the matter to Linden Lab.

  8. In character actions have in character consequences. Any criminal activity/actions (if caught, prosecuted, and found guilty) will require the sentence handed out be served.

  9. Please avoid overwhelming other renters with questions about their rental spaces. Kindly reach out to the rental moderator or manager.

  10. Asking for or begging others for Lindens in any of the Town of Ridgeline groups is strictly prohibited and may result in a ban.

  1. The Town of Ridgeline is both a roleplay and residential community. Please respect the privacy and personal space of all residents. Do not enter any residential homes unless you have been personally invited by the occupants.

  2. All public areas within the Town of Ridgeline are considered in-character (IC) zones. This includes operating motorized vehicles, your actions while driving are part of the roleplay. For example: If you accidentally hit a fire hydrant, you are expected to roleplay the incident and report it.

  3. In Ridgeline, flying is disabled to preserve the realistic nature of our roleplay environment. Residents and visitors are not permitted to fly or teleport to locations. Please use realistic forms of travel. Only members of Management are permitted to fly when necessary for administrative purposes.

  4. Non-renters are allowed to rez up to 50 prims for roleplay purposes. Once your roleplay is complete, please be sure to clean up and remove any items you've rezzed. If items are left behind, a member of Management will remove them.

  5. Renters: Please note that any prims rezzed outside of your rented property will count toward your total prim allowance. When rezzing items such as vehicles or decor in public areas, we kindly ask that you do not exceed 50 prims.

  6. Prims that use scripts to push, pull, or interfere with others are considered disruptive and may be classified as trolling. Such items will be returned by management.

  7. Self-replicating prims are strictly prohibited. Fires are only permitted when initiated by Management or the Fire Department as part of an approved roleplay scenario. Personal fire pits on your own property are allowed.

  8. Keep all prims and items inside of your parcel.

  9. Any weather effects not owned by Management are not allowed.

  10. If there is role play taking place nearby, please keep OOC comments to a minimum. If you must go OOC, please use double parentheses (( )).

  11. God Modding, Meta-gaming, or any other role-play violation will not be tolerated, and will be handled by a member of the management team.

  12. If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance, please use the ticket system on our Discord server or reach out directly to a member of the Ridgeline Management Team.

Guidelines for Residential and Commercial Properties.

  2. After paying your first week's tier, you will automatically receive an invitation to join the Town of Ridgeline Group. Please be sure to accept the invitation!

  6. Your rental includes all areas enclosed by fencing (where applicable). However, you may not return or modify any sidewalks, gates, mailboxes, signs, fencing, or other infrastructure placed by Management. Contact a member of management for adjustments.

  7. Rentals are considered out-of-character (OOC) spaces unless the tenant clearly designates them as in-character (IC). Using your rental as an OOC escape after initiating roleplay in a public IC area is not allowed and may result in termination of your residency.

  8. Please be aware that any no-copy items returned by management due to non-payment of rent are not the responsibility of management. Refunds or reimbursements will not be issued. Please pick up all your belongings in advance to avoid loss.

  9. Please remember prims rezzed outside of your parcel count towards your prim counts, this includes vehicles.

  10. House swaps and tier transfers are permitted, with a limit of two swaps unless otherwise approved at management's discretion. If more than one house swap is requested within a two-week period, a swap fee of L$1,000 will apply. House swaps are also subject to management's approval.

  1. Management reserves the right to return any item that causes sim lag or exceeds the allowed prim limit. We will make every effort to notify you first.

  2. Any member of Management reserves the right to deny a house swap.

  3. All houses will be provided by Management; residents may not use their own houses. We will make our best efforts to accommodate you.

  4. Abandonment Policy: Rental properties that remain unused for more than two weeks and contain fewer than 50 prims may be considered abandoned. After two warnings, management reserves the right to reset the rental. Any remaining rental time will be forfeited, and no refunds will be given.

Subsection: What Is Considered Abandoned

A property may be considered abandoned under the following circumstances:

  • Rental marked as "Will Not Renew" and fewer than 50 prims remain on the property.
  • The primary renter leaves the Town of Ridgeline RP group, regardless of the number of prims on the property.

Grace periods are provided along with reminders. If you're unable to pay rent on time, please reach out to a member of management.

Grace Periods:
  • 72 hours for new renters
  • 120 hours for long-term renters (4 or more consecutive months)

Refunds will only be issued under the following circumstances:

  • Management has closed the community or the sim that you were renting on.
  • Management has removed your rental from the sim, we will work with finding you a replacement home to transfer the tier to another home that suits your needs.

Refunds may be considered and will be handled on a case by case basis and will be determined by the management team.

Please Note: Refunds will NOT be issued for the following:

  1. If the Renter has been banned or removed for any reason.
  2. Violating the Town of Ridgeline Covenant or Second Life's Terms of Service may result in rental termination, community removal, and loss of remaining rental time at management's discretion.
  3. If a renter chooses to leave the Town of Ridgeline, their rental is considered forfeited, and no refunds will be issued.

  5. License plates must be displayed on all vehicles to be considered legal. NPC plates are not valid and may result in you being ticketed.

  6. To drive a vehicle in the Town of Ridgeline, it must be registered. Each vehicle must have its own unique license plate. Using the same plate on multiple vehicles will result in a ticket.

  7. You must be 16 years old to "legally" drive in the Town of Ridgeline.

Object/Prim Rezzing Rules

  1. Non-Renters are allowed to rez up to 50 prims on the sim. These must be picked up before you leave, unless you've received approval from management to leave them out. Unclaimed items will be returned.

  2. Self-replicating prims are strictly prohibited. The only exception is HD fires, which may be used by Management or authorized Fire Department personnel for roleplay purposes.

  3. Weather systems not owned or installed by Management are not allowed.

  4. Breeding items/Breedables (e.g., Amaretto, ABC, Barnyard, Wilds, etc.) are not permitted. Ridgeline is a roleplay community, not a breedable sim.

  5. Pets and prim babies are allowed and will count toward your rental's prim total. Please keep their running scripts to a minimum. If they cause lag, you may be asked to pick them up.

  6. Administrative Note: Management reserves the right to return any items without prior notice that contributes to high lag or excessive script usage.

Conflict Roleplay & Weapon Use

Please use common sense and mutual respect when engaging in conflict-based roleplay. If someone does not consent to engage, kindly respect their decision—forcing others into unwanted roleplay is not permitted.

Approved Weapons for Roleplay Use:

  • Handguns, Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Knives, Bats, Tasers

By choosing to use a weapon, you are agreeing to complete any roleplay that may result from its use. All weapon-related actions are governed by in-character (IC) city laws and may carry IC consequences.

Weapons must remain realistic—fantasy or unrealistic weapons are not allowed.

  1. Vehicles are allowed, provided they are realistic in appearance. Future or fantasy vehicles such as flying cars or hover bikes are not permitted.

  2. Child-sized vehicles are welcome, but must be operated on main roads only. They should not be driven on sidewalks or walking paths.

  3. Vehicles that cause lag or affect sim performance will not be permitted.

  4. Unlocked vehicles left in public areas may be stolen and used IC as part of a roleplay scene.

Administrative Note: Management reserves the right to deem any vehicle unfit for the sim and return it without notice due to excessive lag, unrealistic design, or other disruptive factors. Prim objects left in public RP areas may also be returned without notice once the scene has concluded.

  1. Sexual Role-Play: Please ensure that any sexual roleplay is appropriate for the region's rating and follows Linden Lab's Terms of Service and Community Standards. Always use discretion and respect boundaries.

  2. Requesting Lindens in any form is strictly prohibited. Violating this rule will result in immediate removal and a permanent ban from the Town of Ridgeline.

  3. If you encounter a problem or have a concern, please contact a member of management directly. Be prepared to provide chat logs from all parties involved. If no manager is available in-world, you may reach out via Discord.

To help foster a realistic, inclusive, and immersive roleplay environment, all residents and visitors of Ridgeline are expected to follow these etiquette guidelines.

1. In-Character (IC) vs Out-of-Character (OOC)

  • Ridgeline is a roleplay community. Most public actions are considered in-character (IC) unless clearly marked otherwise.
  • Use double parentheses (( )) or the OOC group tag to signal that you're speaking or acting out of character.
  • Please keep IC drama and OOC issues separate. What happens IC should stay IC.

2. Driving is In-Character

In the Town of Ridgeline, driving is always considered in-character. What happens while driving must be roleplayed realistically.

What This Means:

  • If you hit something (fire hydrant, mailbox, another avatar), you are expected to roleplay the aftermath.
  • If you hit a sim crossing or cause an accident, that is an IC event and must be played out. There is no voiding of IC driving scenes.
  • If you park illegally or let your meter run out, you are expected to roleplay the consequences, such as getting a ticket.

Failure to roleplay a scene that you caused may result in administrative action: first and second violations will receive a warning; repeated breaches may result in removal from the sim.

3. If You Do Not Wish to Participate in a Scene

Roleplay is encouraged, but it is never mandatory. You are always free to set your boundaries.

How to Opt Out:

  • Clearly state: ((I do not wish to partake in this type of roleplay))
  • Wear your OOC Roleplay Tag in-world
  • Submit a ticket to management if you prefer to notify us privately

Important Note: This opt-out policy is not to be used to avoid in-character consequences for actions your character initiated (e.g., crimes, accidents, or reckless driving). "If you do the crime, you do the time."

4. Respect Personal Spaces & Roleplay Signs

  • Please respect homeowners' RP signs. Do not enter homes or private parcels IC without permission.

5. Consent & Sensitive Roleplay

  • If you're planning a major, violent, or sensitive RP scene, always check with those involved in OOC first.
  • Never force a storyline on another resident without their agreement.

6. Roleplay Planning

If you're planning a scene or looking to coordinate with a department, here's how to get started:

  • Use the #roleplay-planning or #roleplay-chat channel in our Discord server.
  • Submit a ticket to management if you need help organizing or launching a scene.

Please Note: Real life comes first. If a staff or department member is unavailable, the scene may need to be paused or rescheduled. Be patient and flexible.

We're here to help create an amazing roleplay experience for everyone.
